Mounjaro-Tirzepatide – patient information

Tirzepatide ( Mounjaro) is a treatment for weight managment that will be gradually introduced across the NHS in England, starting in 2025. Initially, it will be available only through specialist weight management services for people facing the highest health risks due to their weight.

At this stage, Tirzepatide will not be available from GP practices, and not everyone who wants the medication will be able to access it straight away. The rollout will happen in stages to ensure safety and appropriate support for patients.

Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board is waiting for further guidance from NHS England on who will be eligible early on. Until then, they cannot assess individual cases or confirm eligibility.

Patients are kindly asked not to contact their GP surgery about tirzepatide ( Mounjaro) at this time. Updates will be shared on the website as more information becomes available.
