Surgery clinics

We offer a range of clinics and services at the surgery. There are some tasks you can do, such as health reviews, using the Accurx service.

Stop smoking clinic

We offer help and support to give up smoking. Please book a 30 minute appointment with one of our HCA’s.

Contraceptive services

Doctors will give advice on contraception, however, please consult reception as to which doctors provide specific services e.g. coils, implants. Some of our nurse practitioners are able to initiate the contraceptive pill.

Cervical smears

Our nursing team perform cervical smears. The practice offer a routine recall programme to females who are eligible.

Maternity

We are able to offer information and have leaflets available for pre-conception, antenatal and postnatal care. If you are pregnant you can self refer to the Colchester hospital maternity service, you do not have to go via your GP.

Women’s health clinics

Our nurse practitioner can offer advice on a range of women’s health issues including; contraception, menopause, peri menopause, HRT and irregular bleeding.

Coil clinics

Clinics dedicated to the insertion and removal of the hormonal (IUS) coils, Mirena and Kyleena, and the non-hormonal (IUD) copper coil. We also insert and remove the Nexplanon contraceptive implant.

Child health

Developmental checks for the under 5’s are provided by this practice. This involves the full immunisation programme with a series of developmental checks. Children will be invited to attend when appropriate.

Health promotion

Our trained healthcare assistants will be pleased to offer guidance on aspects of lifestyle including smoking, alcohol, overweight and exercise.

Diabetes, asthma, COPD, coronary artery disease and hypertension

These conditions require special attention and you are encouraged to attend the specialist clinics for your reviews.

Minor surgery

Minor surgical procedures are performed by some of the doctors. Suitable procedures include removal of warts, moles, skin lumps and cysts.

Mammography

Our female patients aged 50 to 64 will be offered mammography by the breast screening unit every 3 years to screen for breast cancer.
